Tim Lovell is perhaps the most dynamic player to play for Arizona State hockey.
The undersized defenseman was the quarterback of the Sun Devils strong power play in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, and his superb skating and feistiness were beloved by ASU faithful.
Lovell joined ASU via transfer from Boston College before the 2021-2022 season and has been an impactful player all three seasons in maroon and gold.
His pickup was a huge addition by head coach Greg Powers, and in 2023-2024 it all came together for Timmy.
He had 5 goals and 32 assists for 37 points in 36 games in his senior season, breaking the single-season record for points by a defenseman set by Brinson Pasichnuk.
The Arizona State Sun Devils introduced their “digi flame” jerseys prior to the end of 2022 and wore them in four games in the 2022-2023 season and four times in the 2023-2024 season.
Tim Lovell scored 0 goals and 3 assists in all 4 games in 2022-2023, and also scored 0 goals and 3 assists in the 4 games in 2023-2024 to finish with 6 points total in 8 games in the sweater.
Lovell wore this sweater during the Desert Hockey Classic on January 5th and 6th, 2024 as Sun Devils hockey won the tournament for the first time in team history.
Timmy also gave the game puck to my youngest son after that January 5th game against Harvard as he headed off the ice, so I was particularly excited to grab this jersey.
Lovell’s jersey has moderate visible wear.
The front of the sweater shows a very large stick mark on the right side of the torso beside the pitchfork crest. There are also a couple of tiny stick/puck marks right below the crest.
On the right sleeve there are a couple of larger stick marks and a faint burn or two. The left sleeve has some faint stick/puck marks, burns, and one large repair.
This jersey has an interesting snag on the bottom of the nameplate on the back. More wear is found below the numbers with a snag or cut on the fight strap. The back #2 has some residue on the top of the two.
