Bennett Schimek joined the Arizona State Sun Devils via the transfer portal from Providence College.
The winger spent two years with Providence before joining ASU for his junior and senior seasons.
Schimek’s offensive output exploded in Tempe as he scored 37 points in 35 games in 2024-2025, and 43 points in 35 games in 2025-2026.
That two-season output saw Schimek rise all the way to fifth all-time in Sun Devils hockey history in points with 80, as well as fifth all-time in goals (28) and sixth in assists (52).
His points per game percentage of 1.14 is the highest of any ASU player who played more than one season in the desert.
Arizona State debuted their new gold alternates during the 2024-2025 season.
These alternates are a bit of a re-color of the incredibly popular Barry Bonds/Baseball jerseys from previous seasons.
There are some differences; the cursive script on the crest is not the same as the Bonds jerseys, and it is also flat inside of angled like the adidas era jerseys.
The 2025-2026 version of the jersey is a darker shade of gold than the 2024-2025 version, and it is also a different, more robust and rough material.
Arizona State wore their gold alternates in 7 games in 2025-2026.
Bennett Schimek wore this jersey in all 7 of those games, scoring 1 goal and 5 assists.
Most players from the 2024-2025 season who remained on the roster for 2025-2026 utilized their original 2024-2025 gold alternate, however Bennett Schimek was issued a new jersey for 2025-2026.
Beyond the aforementioned color change, Schimek’s jersey also features the captain’s “C” after he was named co-captain alongside Kyle Smolen prior to the season.
Schim’s jersey has some visible wear with board burns, thread pulls, stick marks, and loose threads.
The back numbers have a couple of scuffs on them, as well.
These 2025-2026 gold alternates feature Arizona State Authentic Game Jersey set tags, whereas the original 2024-2025 gold alternates have no set tags.
