T.J. Semptimphelter ushered in Mullett Arena as the starting goaltender and one of the stars of the Arizona State Sun Devils from 2022-2024.
Semptimphelter transferred to ASU from Northeastern ahead of the 2022-2023 season.
In his two seasons with the Sun Devils, T.J. became a fan favorite and tied the program record for shutouts (8).
He also backstopped the Devils past multiple high-ranked opponents, including a memorable U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame game victory over North Dakota in Las Vegas.
The gray “Desert Storm” jerseys were introduced in December of 2019 and the new alternates incorporated the Arizona state flag motif into the upper parts of the sleeves.
They were worn from 2019-2020 through 2021-2022. The gray jerseys were not worn in 2022-2023, but were worn once again for 5 games in 2023-2024.
T.J. wore this jersey in four of the five games of the set, winning all four games he started.
Semptimphelter’s gray jersey shows some wear with puck marks in the front and on the crest of the sweater.
There are also puck marks in the sleeves, along with pilling in the right sleeve from the blocker. T.J.’s jersey also shows a few light scratches or burns, likely caused by contact with sticks.
The 2023-2024 version of the jersey features a much larger and more detailed pitchfork crest. It is the same crest that was used on the digiflame sets.
The other difference is that all of the newly issued jerseys from 2023-2024 have set tags, whereas all players who had previously worn one in 2021-2022 and were still with the team did not have set tags.
