Ryan O’Reilly was an integral player for Sun Devils hockey for four seasons and 127 games in Tempe.
The former fourth round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings joined Arizona State right as the pandemic forced major changes to the sports world in 2020.
O’Reilly was on board with the Sun Devils season on the road in the Big 10 in 2020-2021 and he saw the final ride at Oceanside in 2021-2022. He also saw ASU through it’s first two seasons at Mullett Arena.
Ryan scored 26 goals and 29 assists for a total of 55 points in his time in the maroon and gold.
Arizona State introduced these Barry Bonds era ASU baseball sweaters just prior to the start of the 2022-2023 season and wore two sets of them that year.
The first set was worn in the inaugural set of games at Mullett Arena on October 14th and 15th, 2022 against Colgate and featured an inaugural season at Mullett Arena patch on the right breast. ASU also wore a second set in three more games that did not have the patch.
Ryan O’Reilly wore this sweater in the inaugural series at the Mullett and scored the second goal in a 2-0 victory on Opening Night in Tempe. This sweater is photomatched to both that particular game and to O’Reilly celebrating his goal. It is also matched to the second game of the series.
O’Reilly’s sweater has excellent wear for its scant amount of game time.
The right sleeve shows the most of it with two decent-sized unrepaired holes, a burn hole on the seam, and one large repair mass which covers the hole you see in the photos and video above. This repair can be seen in a photo above from the second game in the Colgate series that weekend. There are some faint stick/puck marks on the left sleeve.
His sweater shows a few loose threads on the front in both the Devils script and in the numbers on the stomach. The gorgeous inaugural season patch is on the right breast.
There is no wear of note on the back of the jersey.
These Barry Bonds sets have set tags marking them as Arizona State authentic game jerseys and were the first sets to be worn featuring Corby Antropik’s name instead of former equipment manager Jon Laughner.
