Michael Chaput was named the fourth captain in Tucson Roadrunners history ahead of the 2019-2020 season. Despite the COVID shortened season, Chaput turned out to be the most productive captain in franchise history with 16 goals and 13 assists in 47 games.
Chaput joined the Arizona Coyotes organization late in the 2018-2019 season from the Montreal Canadiens. The Yotes traded Jordan Weal to acquire Chaput,. Outside of two games during the 2019-2020 season, he has spent the entirety of his tenure in the desert with the Roadrunners. That trend looks to continue as former GM John Chayka signed Chaput to a one-year, two-way contract extension at the end of March.
Chaput’s jersey has decent wear which is mostly concentrated in the sleeves.
The right sleeve has a repair near the elbow and a few burns in the wrist area. The left sleeve has multiple repairs just below the elbow and into the wrist area. There is also a small hole in the hem of the sleeve. There are also some faint marks in the sleeve numbers.
The body of the jersey does have a couple of stick/puck marks. The back sleeve numbers do as well. The neck or collar of the jersey is torn slightly, though Chaput never fought in this sweater.
Michael Chaput also played two games with the Arizona Coyotes in 2019-2020.
On March 30th, 2020 the Coyotes announced they had re-signed Chaput to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2020-2021 season.
