Matthew Kopperud was a dominant offensive force for the Arizona State Sun Devils across four seasons.
The Denver native finished his career in Tempe second in all-time goals (64), tied for second in points (107), and first in power play goals (42).
Kopperud was an integral part of the Sun Devils’ offense for three seasons and likely would have been a fourth if not for injuries derailing his junior season. Those injuries also cost him the chance to be the school’s career leader in goals and points as he fell just 6 goals and 13 points short.
The four-year star signed with the Bridgeport Islanders after his senior season.
The Sun Devils wore their Barry Bonds/Baseball set gamers across two seasons. They were worn in 5 games in 2022-2023 (with 2 of those games being a separate Mullett Arena patched set) and in 6 games in 2023-2024.
Matthew Kopperud did not wear the regular, non-patched Bonds set during the 2022-2023 season due to injury. He did, however, wear this gamer in all 6 games in the 2023-2024 season.
Kopperud scored 4 goals and 3 assists in those games to finish above a point-per-game in this sweater.
#28’s jersey has light wear with board burns in the sleeves and one decent sized burn hole in the right sleeve and another smaller burn hole or two. There is one large stick mark on the left sleeve.
The front has some loose threads in the “Devils” crest script and in the alternate captain’s “A”. Kopperud’s jersey also has some faint stick/puck marks on the front above the crest.
On the back of the jersey is a stick mark below the back #2 that touches the fight strap.
ASU’s Barry Bonds/Baseball set gamers had set tags that marked them as Arizona State Authentic Game Jerseys.
