Kyle Wood was a regular part of the Tucson Roadrunners blue line in their first two years of existence. The 6’7” defender was originally a third round draft pick in 2014 by Don Maloney and the Arizona Coyotes.
In his first season of professional hockey, Wood went on a bit of a tear and scored 14 goals and added 29 assists in for 43 points in 68 games. His sophomore season wasn’t quite as impactful, however, as he managed just 3 goals and 16 assists for 19 points. Injuries limited him to just 49 games.
Wood’s jersey has moderate wear with repairs on both sleeves.
The right sleeve a large repair near the cuff that has been photomatched to a 4/8/2018 game versus the Grand Rapids Griffins, as well as some unrepaired holes and marks near the elbow that have also allowed for a separate photomatch. The left sleeve has an even bigger line of repairs on the left forearm. It looks to be two or three separate holes that have been sewn up together. This repair is also visible in photos of Kyle Wood from 2017-2018.
The body of the jersey is relatively clean, with no notable marks or wear.
Wood was traded from the Arizona Coyotes to the San Jose Sharks organization follow the end of the 2017-2018 season. Since that move he has been traded twice more, spending time with the Carolina Hurricanes franchise before being acquired by Steve Yzerman and the Detroit Red Wings in December 2019.
He has yet to play his first NHL game, but at age 24 the book is certainly not closed on Kyle Wood’s hockey aspirations.
