Joey Daccord was the Arizona State Sun Devils hockey program’s the first recruit who was drafted by an NHL team.
He joined the program in 2016-2017 alongside Wade Murphy (another NHL drafted player, but who transferred in from North Dakota) as part of an integral recruiting class for Greg Powers and ASU.
Daccord then proceeded to set school records and catapult the team into the NCAA tournament with his incredible play.
The Massachusetts native followed up his college career with some time in the NHL with the Ottawa Senators before solidifying himself as a full-time NHL goaltender with the Seattle Kraken.
He signed a 5-year, $25 million contract with the Kraken as the 2024-2025 season began.
Arizona State wore these White Set jerseys in both 2015-2016 and in 2016-2017.
The primary difference between the 2015-2016 version and the 2016-2017 version is branding.
In 2016-2017, ASU covered all of the CCM patches on these jerseys with adidas patches to comply with the school’s agreement with adidas for branding. Some jerseys feature the adidas patch overing the CCM patch, and some jerseys are actually straight adidas. It varied depending on the player.
Daccord’s jersey is one of the unused jerseys from the inaugural season that was issued to him once he enrolled at ASU and then used by Daccord throughout 2016-2017 with the CCM patch covered.
This jersey had it’s nameplate removed by ASU when it was sold. The nameplate was later reunited with the jersey though it remains unattached.
Joey Daccord’s white freshman gamer has solid wear visible on the front.
There are puck marks throughout the front on both sides of the crest. Both sleeves also show a few puck marks.
The shoulders of this jersey have a few nice marks in and around both “ASU” shoulder patches, with the right shoulder marks helping add to the photo matches for this sweater.
The numbers of these White Set jerseys have pitchforks embossed in the maroon twill which creates an amazing look up close. The embossed numbers were only used for 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.
As mentioned previously, Daccord’s jersey is actually a CCM model that has had the CCM patch on the front covered by an adidas patch.
