Tyler Busch wore this gray “desert storm” alternate set game worn jersey while playing for the Arizona State University Sun Devils hockey program during the 2019-2020 season.
That season was shaping up to be a banner year for ASU with the school exceeding its previous best season in 2018-2019 and en route to another NCAA tournament berth before COVID shut down the season.
Busch was a big part of that season-by-season growth, putting up 21 points in 36 games while serving as one of the team captains.
He scored the overtime winner against #8 Clarkson on January 25th, 2020 to capture one of the biggest wins in program history.

The “Desert Storm” jerseys were introduced in December of 2019 and the new alternates incorporated the Arizona state flag motif into the upper parts of the sleeves.
Arizona State wore their new gray set jerseys in 6 games in the 2019-2020 season. Tyler Busch played in all 6 games, tallying 1 goal and 2 assists in those 6 contests.
His “desert storm” game worn jersey has light wear with board burns in the left and right sleeves, as well as one decent sized unrepaired hole in the elbow of the right sleeve and another bigger unrepaired hole near the wrist.
The front is pretty clean but does feature the captain’s “C” which has a large loose thread which has been photomatched to the January 25th game against Clarkson. These gray sweaters featured perforated numbers on the sleeves and back and that small touch really adds to the look of the jersey.
The nameplate was removed from Busch’s jersey by the team prior to the jersey being sold. However, the nameplates were later made available by ASU and it was re-attached to make the jersey whole once again.
Busch is currently playing with the Fort Wayne Komets and has spent some time with the Henderson Silver Knights this season.
