Jordin Tootoo is one of the most beloved players to wear a Nashville Predators jersey. He wore this sweater during his rookie season and in the first ever playoff game in franchise history.
Tootoo was selected in the 4th round, 98th overall by the Preds in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. After spending some more time in junior, he made his NHL debut at the beginning of the 2003-2004 season.
He was an effective agitator and enforcer for Nashville and sits atop the Loyalty List for the Predators with 61 fights — a full 20 more than the next closest guy, Patrick Côté.
Toots scored 46 goals and 79 assists in his eight seasons in the Music City. He was a more useful player than some of his contemporaries and has a respectable point total compared to some of those other fighters who were active in his time.
2003-2004 was Tootoo’s rookie season and he tallied 4 goals and 4 assists with 137 penalty minutes in 70 games.
He emerged as a regular in Barry Trotz’s lineup just as the Nashville Predators were finally ready to make their first foray into the playoffs. Jordin Tootoo was active in five of the six games in the Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Detroit Red Wings, including the first playoff home game in franchise history on April 11th, 2004.
This 2003-2004 Navy Set 3/Playoffs Set jersey was worn in that first playoff home game and is photomatched to the second playoff home game, as well.
Nashville wore their Navy Set 3/Playoffs Set jerseys in 3 regular season games from March 13th, 2004 to March 30th, 2004 and in 3 playoff games against Detroit.
Jordin Tootoo wore this sweater in 5 games (2 regular season, 3 playoffs) and tallied no points, along with one fight versus Mark Bell against Chicago on March 30th.
The jersey has moderate wear with some stick/puck marks in both sleeves. There are also some board burns in the silver areas of the sleeves. The numbers on the sleeves have some loose threading, as does the back nameplate.
Tootoo’s jersey is fairly clean on the front bar a few stick/puck marks in the yellow hem area. The back hem of the jersey also has one larger stick mark which is matched to Darren McCarty laying a big hit on Tootoo with the mark visible as Toots falls to the ice.
There is a stick mark on the left back #5 and Jordin signed the right back #5.
These jerseys have Cutting Edge Sports/team tagging along with MeiGray tagging.
