Austin Lemieux arrived on Arizona State’s campus in Tempe, AZ with a pedigree that is unmatched by any recruit before or since.
The son of Hall of Famer and hockey legend Mario Lemieux, Austin signed with ASU and redshirted in the 2017-2018 season. He went on to play two seasons for the Sun Devils, tallying 27 points (7 goals and 20 assists) in 66 games.
Lemieux retired from hockey after the 2019-2020 season to pursue a career in golf.
The Arizona State Sun Devils wore their maroon jerseys in 16 games in 2018-2019 and in 7 games in 2019-2020.
Austin Lemieux’s jersey has moderate wear.
The right sleeve has snags, one larger board burn, and regular burns and burn marks. Above the sleeve numbers there is a significantly sized burn hole. The left sleeve also has a few board burns. Looking at the left sleeve numbers, there is a stick mark on the lower third of the #1.
On the crest, there is a loose thread at the top of the pitchfork that has led to the only photomatch of the jersey I’ve found. There simply aren’t very many photos of Lemieux at ASU out there, and most of those have him wearing the white sweater.
The gray hem on the bottom front of the jersey has a small inch and a half unrepaired cut.
On the back of Lemieux’s sweater there is some loose threads in the name and the numbers. There are also small loose threads on the pitchfork state logo on the back of the collar.
Below the numbers on the lower left hand side of the jersey is a large silver dollar sized burn that is also an unrepaired hole in the center.
These jerseys also feature the perforated numbers on the sleeves and back.
