Oliver Ekman-Larsson wore this White Set 2 game worn jersey for the Arizona Coyotes during their 20th anniversary season in 2016-2017.
OEL’s jersey has a lot of interesting quirks. First and foremost is the strange patch placement. The Coyotes decided to put the 20th anniversary patch on the chest instead of the sleeve, which created a real estate issue for those players jerseys that also featured the “C” or the “A”. The size of the coyote crest prevented them from using the other side, so fans were treated to this triple patched monstrosity. The NHL 100 patch features on the right sleeve.
The jersey has OEL’s signature hemmed sleeves.
This Ekman-Larsson has decent wear compared to his usual jerseys. There are two taped repairs on the left sleeve and a sewn repair in the striping on the right sleeve. The right sleeve also has blue paint transfer. Both sleeves have a few board burns and light marks. The front of the jersey has stick/puck marks at the bottom, including one on the right hand side which allowed for some photomatching. There are also a few marks on the inside of the front of the jersey where it had apparently rolled up during play.
The back has a notable mark above the “EKMAN” portion of his name that I was able to photomatch to the image on the left from the final game of the 2016-2017 season. There a couple of light marks below the numbers, but nothing major.
The 2016-2017 was Oliver Ekman-Larsson’s weakest output since establishing himself as one of the top defensemen in the NHL. He played in 79 games and scored 12 goals and added 27 assists for 39 total points.
