This white set 2 game worn jersey was used by Jason Arnott in his first season as captain of the Nashville Predators. It features both the captain’s “C” and the 10th Anniversary patch.
This jersey has a decent amount of wear despite being worn in just a couple of games. There are a few light marks on the front, and the jersey is photomatched to the unique placement of the “C”.
There’s a clear difference between set 1, both set 2 jerseys, and set 3 based on the location of the captain’s letter. There is also a nice amount of wear on the left sleeve, including red paint transfer, burns on the sleeve numbers, and marks and burns in the silver fabric of the sleeve.
Arnott’s jersey is a another unique one, and it is the twin of the Arnott 2007-2008 Navy Set 2 jersey I also own. Both of them are Edge 1.0's, both are an enormous size 60, and both abandoned midway through the set lifespan by Jason Arnott for Edge 2.0's, size 58+. The white away jersey was worn in three of the eight games that the team wore their White Set 2 jerseys.
The entire season worth of jerseys for the Preds were odd that year. Set 1 and 2 saw no more than 10 games of use for both home and away, yet the team wore their home and away Set 3 for the entire second half of the season and then into the playoffs (20+ games each).
Not sure who laid out the dates so lopsidedly, or if it was just a function of the universal dislike of 1.0's, but it's interesting nonetheless.
The captain had 0 goals and 2 assists in the 3 games he wore this jersey. He finished his first year as captain with 28 goals and 44 assists for 72 points in 79 games.
It was his highest scoring season as a Nashville Predator, and the second highest point total of his career.
