David Jacobson was the third and final goaltender to commit to the Arizona State Sun Devils prior to their inaugural season as a Division I hockey program.
The freshman goaltender made seven appearances for the Sun Devils in 2015-2016 and put up a solid .912 save percentage against a mixture of Division I and Division III opponents.
Jacobson was only with ASU for one season before transferring to Division III SUNY-Oswego.
Arizona State wore just two sets of jerseys in their inaugural season; one black, one white.
The whites were worn at home and the black jerseys were worn primarily on the road.
Through my research it looks like David Jacobson wore this white set gamer in four of his seven appearances including his first start for the Sun Devils and his first ever start against a Division I foe.
These jerseys are the only jerseys worn by the school thus far to not feature the adidas label. CCM branding is on the top center and inside of these sweaters.
The black and white sets both featured special pitchfork embossed twill which looks incredible up close and shows a solid amount of wear on most of the jerseys due to washing and general friction from game play.
Jacobson’s white set jersey has moderate visible wear with puck marks on the front and sleeves.
There are a few puck marks on the front on the lower half of the jersey and another mark or two on the right collarbone. The inside of the neck has some pilling.
On the right sleeve is another collection of puck marks while the left sleeve has a few less. There is a small unrepaired cut on the left sleeve, as well.
Both sleeves show significant loose threads that are extremely long hanging from the numbers.
It is photomatched to a few different photos but it is difficult to tell which games they are from in most cases.
