As a fan, this is possibly the most meaningful jersey in my collection.
Shane Doan’s jersey retirement ceremony was one of the few things the Arizona Coyotes organization has gotten right in it’s past decade. It was a wonderful night and celebration of the Valley’s most popular sports figure.
The icing on the cake was being able to acquire Oliver Ekman-Larsson’s game worn jersey from that night.
After all, whose jersey from that night would be better to own than Doan’s own handpicked heir apparent?
O’s jersey has minimal wear which is to be expected from a jersey worn in just one game. It is a beauty, however, and a real one of a kind given it’s significance with the franchise.
There is some interesting glue-like residue on the neck near the NHL shield which allowed to be photomatched. Beyond that, there is a pull in the left sleeve. That’s it. Otherwise the jersey is pristine.
The back numbers feature autographs from both OEL and Shane Doan. Both autographs were included on every jersey auctioned.
Ekman-Larsson assisted on the game-winning goal scored by Lawson Crouse and skated 24:43 while being a +2 on the night.
The final score was 4-1 as the Yotes defeated the Winnipeg Jets.
